Clips—The Dothan Eagle

This clip is one that I am proud of because of my part in its story telling. Originally the art came in of the different knives and I asked what is this one called specifically. I then did the research to give the actual name of the knife, the use for it and prices. The prices I used reflected the area of the newspaper’s coverage. I used Wal-Mart’s prices and then a high-end website [Fortunff.com]. The simple design feels like there is a healthy amount of whitespace.

Clips—Asbury Park Press

This clip shows an Asbury Park invention, ultimate frisbee, and its tournament and making its big summer splash. The typography play and the art integration makes this a clip that isn’t ‘fancy’ in its execution but is simple, clean and a favorite.

This clip was my first opportunity to work with zoned metro and sports fronts. I was able to make this wire story a centerpiece and to include a local story with a graphic that highlighted a local who is a NASCAR star.

These pages came from Baseball America’s High School All-American section for 2009. These pages were an opportunity to work with an advertiser, editorial and production to create an integrated section.

This is an illustration I created for the World Baseball Classic. Our coverage included a by-the-numbers sidebar and I bulked it up. The story was able to be told in a brief, interesting way in this sidebar.
